Welcome to eHealth Masterminds – a website designed to share stories, good and bad, with the aim to streamline implementations by avoiding mistakes and focusing on what really works. We are passionate about making a difference to healthcare availability, cost and quality through sharing knowledge and understanding on how best to procure and implement eHealth solutions. No implemented solution is too small to discover valuable lessons.

My name is Colleen Brooks and I’m the person behind eHealth Masterminds. I am passionate about helping our ailing health care systems with the support of technology that makes a difference.

I have been fortunate to have been able to work around the world for organizations such as: the eHealth Strategy Lead for the Ministry of Health Saudi Arabia; the Director of Standards for MOHH Singapore; various roles at NeHTA Australia; and prior to that as Clinical Product Manager for Trakcare which allowed me to help implement software in many countries around the world.

Additionally, I have been part of a number of international committees such as: Executive committee for Clinical Information Modelling Initiative (www.opencimi.org); Chair of International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation Members forum (www.ihtsdo.org); and International Council member of HL7 International (www.hl7.org).

I have been inspired by some amazing people from health care communities around the world who:

  • have very similar problems that they are trying to address
  • are often implementing the same eHealth solutions and
  • are facing the same issues

And from this eHealth Masterminds was born.

This website also aims to have people and vendors from around the world share their eHealth stories. The website is aimed at implementers, vendors and purchasers of all types of eHealth products. Some of you who are eHealth Masterminds might find some of what is written on this site a little simplistic, but it’s the new to semi experienced eHealth Masterminds that this site is aimed at. Having said this, even eHealth Masterminds may find it helpful refreshing their memories and reminding them of lessons once learned as the continual cycle of eHealth evolves. F
